It is an honor to serve as the Administrator of the Lansing Area Homeschool Academy (LAHA). My husband, Brad, and I are among the founding board members, and we have watched the Lord do an amazing work in this program through the dedicated leadership of the LAHA board.
I earned my master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Michigan State University. Brad and I have been married for over 25 years and are blessed with two children. Our son, a homeschool graduate, now works in finance, and our daughter, also a homeschool graduate, is studying at Craft Education in Novi, MI, preparing to be a missionary in the marketplace through cosmetology.
When we began our homeschooling journey, it was challenging to sort through all the options and to feel confident that we had what it would take to complete the task. Parenting can be difficult enough, and adding the responsibility of educating our children felt daunting at times. When I learned that this program would come alongside me with support, mentorship, and encouragement, I was sold! The love for the Lord and His truths was evident in the leadership and staff. God used this opportunity to grow my faith right alongside my children’s.
It is a true privilege to encourage homeschooling families to “train up a child in the way they should go.” There’s no secret recipe for success, but I can guarantee that no one loves your children more than you do. The time you invest in them will never return void. The Lord is faithful to walk with you every step of the way on this journey.
