Kindergarten & Life Skills Tutor

My Name is Darla Lucero, and I am the kindergarten and life skills tutor.

I truly enjoy being here at Lansing Area Homeschool Academy. I hope to leave your precious child with a feeling of being special, loved, and feeling that God Himself thinks they are pretty neat! 

I have been married for over 20 years to Joe Lucero who is a Systems Analyst at Lansing Community College. We have three homeschool graduates, Abigail, who is studying sign language for  missions, Rachel and  Sophia who have their associate's degrees from Lansing Community College.

Our family enjoys sharing music, bike rides, board games, puzzles, devotions, workouts, good food  and good theater. We have all led or participated in worship bands at various churches for many years. 

We began our family in Northern IL. We have been living in Lansing for several years now and enjoy the adventures presented in Michigan. I was encouraged to homeschool by a friend who also homeschooled and was further ahead in the journey.  She helped me in many ways and I hope to be that support system to you as you begin this effort with your child(ren).  However, we both (parent and tutor) need to keep in mind that you as parents are ultimately responsible for the training of your child(ren).  I am excited that you have chosen to delegate a part of that time to me. But your student will continue to need your support, assistance and involvement in this class at home. 

Let's believe in what God has packaged inside of your child and explore together just who this  wonderful person is, and who God wants them to be in His kingdom!
