Lansing Area Homeschool Academy Art Courses

Kindergarten Art Course

Kindergarten Art Class is a fun introduction to the world of art. We will learn some of the basic elements of art such as line, shape, form, and texture.  The color wheel will be presented with an emphasis on primary colors, secondary colors, complementary colors, cool colors, and warm colors.  Projects will include instruction in a variety of mediums such as pencil, paint, watercolors, pastels, and clay.  Lessons will reflect art from other countries, seasonal art projects as well as projects that expose students to the works of famous artists.

1-4 Art Course

The goal of this class is to introduce the students to a variety of mediums and artistic styles. The students are encouraged to use their God-given creativity in exploring artists, international art, drawing, and three-dimensional art forms.

The two class groups (Grades 1-2 and Grades 3-4) do the same assignment each week, keeping in mind their varying abilities. The class structure fosters an encouraging environment for creative exploration for the young child.

5-8 Art Course

This class is designed for the students to enjoy both drawing and painting with different mediums, ranging from watercolor, acrylic to pastels and a variety of pens. The students will learn the basics of art terms, techniques, and famous artists throughout this course.
